Intellectual Property Notice
Merck, the Merck logo and all other materials available for download from the www.merck.de website (hereinafter the "Website"), including, but not limited to, photographs, graphics, designs, charts, logos, names
and documents are trademarks, copyrights, and/or other forms of intellectual property of Merck KGaA and its affiliated companies
(hereinafter individually and collectively referred to as the "Merck Intellectual Property"). The user of the Website and
the organization that the user represents (hereinafter the "User") are permitted to use the Merck Intellectual Property for
legitimate journalistic purposes only (hereinafter the "Purpose"), provided the User agrees to the following:

The User may use the Merck Intellectual Property only for the mentioned purpose.

The User shall not deface, distort or materially alter the Merck Intellectual Property. On all materials or in connection with all materials for which the Merck Intellectual Property is used, the User shall place such legends, markings and notices as Merck may prescribe in order to give appropriate notice of any intellectual property rights.

Upon request, the User shall furnish to Merck, free of charge, representative samples of the materials displaying the Merck Intellectual Property in order for Merck to assure itself that the conditions of this grant of permission are being satisfied.

The User acknowledges that Merck owns the Merck Intellectual Property, and agrees that the User shall acquire no legal or equitable rights to the Merck Intellectual Property by virtue of this agreement or the User's use of the Merck Intellectual Property.

This agreement may be terminated and permission to use the Merck Intellectual Property may be withdrawn by Merck at any time at its own discretion and without cause, and without recourse by the User. The User will promptly discontinue all use of the Merck Intellectual Property upon withdrawal of permission.

This agreement and the permission granted herein is personal to the User, and may not be assigned or transferred, in whole or in part, by the User to any other party.

This agreement terminates automatically upon use of the Merck Intellectual Property

on or in connection with any pornographic material or illegal activity;

in a manner that may mislead or confuse viewers as to the relationship between Merck and the User or their respective products or services; or

in a manner that may damage the goodwill or public image of Merck.

Merck KGaA reserves the right, at its own discretion and without liability or prior notice, to modify the Website in whole or in part at any time, and is not obliged to update the contents of the Website.
