Directors' Dealings
In accordance with Section 15a German Securities Trading Act (WpHG) the members of the Executive Board and the Supervisory
Board of Merck KGaA as well as persons with regular access to inside information and who are authorized to make important
managerial decisions are obliged immediately to notify Merck KGaA and the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin)
of own transactions in Merck shares or financial instruments based on them. This obligation applies also to other parties
who are closely associated with such persons such as spouses, registered civil partners and dependent children.
Merck KGaA is obliged to immediately publish the information. A respective provision is also contained in Section 6.6. German
Corporate Governance Codex.

the capital increase resolved upon on January 21, 2007 (ISIN: DE 0006599905) at a price of EUR 78.00 per share. The transaction
volume totaled EUR 21,528.00.

he acquired 1.556 shares from the capital increase resolved upon on January 21, 2007 (ISIN: DE 0006599905) at a price of EUR
78.00 per share (transaction volume: EUR 121,368.00). He also notified us that on February 1, 2007 he purchased 13 subscription
rights on shares from the capital increase (ISIN: DE 000A0LR7F5) at a price of EUR 1.57 per subscription right (transaction
volume: EUR 20.41). The transaction volume totaled EUR 121,388.41.

per subscription right to a banking syndicate led by Deutsche Bank AG, Citigroup Global Markets Limited and Goldman Sachs
International within the scope of a placement agreement. The transaction volume totaled EUR 55,810,341.00.
