Dr. Bernd Reckmann
- Member of the Executive Board and General Partner of Merck KGaA
Bernd Reckmann, born in 1955, studied Biochemistry in Hannover, Germany, from 1976 to 1984 and completed his studies with a doctorate.
He worked in the Biochemistry Department at the University of Bayreuth from 1984 to 1986.
Reckmann joined the diagnostics research unit of Merck in Darmstadt in 1986. From 1993 to 1998 he worked in Marketing & Sales within the laboratory and diagnostics business. He was appointed Head of the Life Science Products division in 1998. He became Head of Strategic Innovation at Merck in 2004 before being appointed president of the Merck companies in Korea.
On January 1, 2007 Reckmann was appointed to the Executive Board of Merck KGaA and General Partner of Merck KGaA.
